Marketing Assistant-New American Funding

2016-Present

New American Funding is a home loan company located in Tustin, CA.  As a marketing assistant, I coordinate with designers, website developers, social media coordinators, videographers and others within the marketing department to assist loan officers and promote the company.  I also assist in training loan officers to promote their business using New American Funding’s marketing materials.  It is my responsibility to review marketing materials to ensure that all legal and compliance requirements are met and materials are properly branded.  In doing so, I help prevent the company and its employees from any legal issues.  I also have the opportunity to assist in executing special projects within the marketing department wherever help is needed.  For example, I assist in creating written content for special projects like the monthly editorial, NAF Inc.

Concierge- Capriana

2013 - 2016

Capriana is a luxury senior living establishment located in Brea, CA.  As a concierge, I am responsible for managing the front desk, responding to any requests residents may have, greeting visitors who are interested in the community, answering and directing all phone calls, and assisting the business office manager with anything she needs.  This often includes inputting invoices into our accounting system and daily work with Excel.  I am also an influential part of the marketing team at Capriana.  I am the first person anyone sees and talks to when they enter the community or call over then phone.  It is my responsibility to answer their initial questions about the community, direct them to the proper person to further assist them, and most importantly, give them an outstanding first impression.

Hostess- Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant

2011 - 2013

As a restaurant hostess, my responsibilities entailed greeting and seating guests, managing and entertaining large volumes of guests waiting in line, setting and organizing tables, overseeing sales in a candy store, and assisting waiters and waitresses.  Teamwork is crucial to a successful and efficient team of hosts.  From setting tables quickly to keeping guests happy during what can sometimes be three hour wait times, all hosts had to work together to keep the restaurant running properly.  To get employed at Farrell's, I had to audition for the part.  I was one of only 200 people hired out of a total of 1500 applicants.

American Marketing Association

Spring 2015

American Marketing Association (more commonly known as AMA) is another club at Cal State Fullerton that I was lucky enough to be a part of.  Much like Pi Sigma Epsilon, this group focuses on marketing, sales, and networking.  This club introduced me to a lot of passionate and knowledgable marketing students that were also preparing themselves for careers in marketing.  Through this club, I was also given the opportunity to meet with successful marketing professionals, many who started at Cal State Fullerton themselves.
